A Unique Blend of History & Comfort

Step into the past while enjoying the finest modern amenities in this beautiful 1820s Quercy farmhouse.

La Gaillardenque was originally a traditional farm with a bread oven, barn, and outbuildings. Meticulously restored by the previous owners and with additional restyling by Dale and Lorraine, the property elegantly blends rich history with contemporary comforts. Considerable care has gone into preserving the farmhouse’s authentic traditional charm whilst providing all the modern conveniences necessary for an enjoyable stay.

The Farmhouse: a comfortable, elegant retreat

The farmhouse offers a perfect blend of comfort and charm, with two spacious bedrooms accommodating up to four guests. This stunning property includes a relaxing lounge room, a large, well-equipped kitchen, two luxurious bathrooms and a stylish dining room that leads onto the theatre room.

Ground Floor: the heart of the home

The fully-fitted, well-equipped kitchen, situated on the ground floor, is a modern culinary haven! It comes with an induction hob, an oven, a microwave, and a dishwasher. There’s also a coffee and tea station, a wine fridge, and a large American-style fridge/freezer for added convenience. A comfortable four-seater dining table allows you to enjoy your meals in style.

From the kitchen, step into the dining room, which features a larger eight-seater table, offering plenty of space for family meals or entertaining friends. A laundry room, also located next to the kitchen, is added for your convenience.

Next is the theatre room, an excellent spot for movie lovers, and accessed through an archway from the dining room. There are two reclining chairs and a large comfy bean bag. It’s the perfect place to relax and watch your favourite movies on the wide TV screen. Don’t forget the popcorn!

First Floor: Relax and refresh

Upstairs, the lounge room serves as a central, welcoming space, surrounded by two beautifully appointed bedrooms. Each bedroom features a private bathroom, offering a perfect balance of space and privacy. Also, for your comfort and convenience, all linens are provided, including bed sheets, towels, and pool towels.

Outdoor Living: a tranquil escape

Step outside to discover an incredible array of pleasant and practical open spaces. The covered seating area with two sofas and tables provides a peaceful place to relax and unwind, no matter the weather. Shaded by a pergola, the outdoor six-seater dining area, is ideal for gathering with friends and family for alfresco meals. The pergola can be adjusted to suit your preference, offering shade from the sun or letting you dine under the stars. Additionally, there is a separate BBQ area with ample seating and bench space for preparing and enjoying meals outdoors.

The Gîte – a restful haven for two

The Gîte is the ideal getaway for couples, featuring a bright, spacious bedroom and everything you need for a relaxing stay. This delightful space includes an open-plan living area that brings together the lounge, dining area, and kitchen, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The accommodation is all on the ground floor and opens out onto a spacious outdoor terrace and garden.

Thoughtfully Designed Interiors

As you walk through the front door, the hallway leads to the large bathroom on the left which has a generous walk-in shower, toilet, and sink. A cleverly concealed washing machine within the wall adds convenience without compromising style.

The bedroom, also accessed from the hallway, is beautifully furnished with a comfortable double bed. There’s plenty of storage in the wardrobes and drawers to keep your belongings neat and tidy.

To the right of the hallway, the open-plan lounge, dining area, and kitchen create a cosy and practical space to unwind. The modern kitchen has an induction hob, oven, microwave, and coffee machine to kick-start your mornings.

Outdoor Charm

The spacious outdoor seating area, with a comfortable corner couch and table, is perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine. There’s also a small dining table for enjoying meals alfresco. You’ll discover a kitchen herb garden next to the front door, whose scents and colour add a delightful, refreshing touch. Feel free to use them throughout your stay. The outdoor area is shaded by a pergola, making it a lovely spot to enjoy at any time of day.

The pool area is shared with the Farmhouse and the Gîte, as the entire property is exclusively yours. The highlight of the exterior, the large in-ground pool, surrounded by sunbeds and parasols. It’s a fantastic setting for relaxing in the sun. There’s also a shaded area by the pool where you can dine, lounge, read and relax on lazy afternoons.
