Living the dream in France
“La Gaillardenque Gîtes was born from the memories of several unforgettable holidays in France, which sparked the dream of owning a property in the picturesque Lot Valley. In June 2022, that dream became a reality. Living in France and running a holiday gîte business had always been on our bucket list. So, we couldn’t be more thrilled to bring that vision to life.
The property itself is a charming farmhouse, complete with a barn, stables, and even an old bread oven, all dating back to 1820. It’s named La Gaillardenque, a name that has been lovingly preserved for over 200 years. From the moment we drove up the driveway, we knew this was the place for us. There was an instant connection, and before long, renovations were underway to bring the property up to date while maintaining its historic character. Now, it’s a cosy, welcoming home for us, and we truly hope it feels the same for you.” ~ Dale Warren, owner/manager of lagagites.com.

Dale is manager, director, groundsman and driving force behind the business.

Who we are
Dale and Lorraine Warren are the dynamic husband-and-wife duo behind La Gaillardenque Gites, where they warmly welcome guests to experience the charm of their property.
Dale, an Australian, is the director and driving force behind the business. He’s always on the go, tackling building projects, or meticulously caring for the grounds. His passion for work is contagious and evident in every corner of the property.
Lorraine, also Australian, takes great pride in her garden. With her keen eye for detail, she manages the lush surroundings while casually monitoring Dale’s ‘to-do’ list. Her support helps create a harmonious environment that contributes to the overall success of their venture.
They are often accompanied by their two Belgian Shepherds, Herky (Hercule) and Loulou – affectionately known as the playful, harmless “knuckleheads.” The dogs are never far from their side, adding a touch of fun to everyday tasks.
And let’s not forget their feathered companions – four chickens with colourful personalities, Chestnut, Chicory, Paprika, and Poppy. Also, newly adopted Chickpea, Chickira, Henna Solo (‘Han Solo’, because she prefers to be on her own) and Clove. They have the chicken yard near the pool and are very content, clucking happily in the sun.
